Collaborative research center SFB 450

Analysis and control of ultrafast photoinduced reactions

In this research center we aim to characterize the nuclear dynamics induced by optical excitatiopns and to influence the resulting molecular dynamics by further ineteraction with an optical field. Ideally this leads to a stable product state, which would allow to control the outcome and pathway of chemical reactions.

Prof. Gerhard Ertl until  2004 leader of the project  A5 received the Nobelprice in chemistry of the year  2007
