· Generation of ultrashort laser pulses (< 10 fs) at 800nm.

· Generation of fs laser pulses in the VUV region.

· Photoion-Photoelecetron Coincidence (PEPICO) measurements with kHz fs pulses.

Meeting point will be 3 pm at the Max-Born-Saal.

Besucher werden um 15.15 Uhr im Hörsaal A abgeholt. Wir können in den Laboren unter anderem die Laser und die unterschiedlichen verwendeten Shaperdesigns sowie die Pulsdetektion zeigen. Außerdem können erste Aufbauten zur Weißlichterzeugung in Hohlfasern erläutert werden. Ein aktuelles Highlight ist die erst seit zwei Wochen im Labor stehende magneto-optische Fallenapparatur (MOT), an der demnächst kohärente Kontrollexperimente durchgeführt werden sollen.

Meeting point: in front of the lecture hall of HMI
1) Femtosecond transient absorption, femtosecond two-photon-photoemission, pulse generation with two NOPAS (IR to UV with SHG), crosscorrelation < 30 fs FWHM
2) Bond formation between specific molecules and clean surfaces(rutile, Ag) employing wet-chemistry techniques in a dedicated ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) chamber
3) Preparation of clean, reconstructed surfaces of III-V semiconductors via metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). Sample transfer from MOCVD into UHV for characterization with surface science tools
4) Synthesis of organic molecules consisting of chromophore, bridge group, and anchor group, preparation of nm-structured oxide layers
