Berlin Early-Career Space Research Conference
The first conference and networking event for Berlin’s early-career space science community
20-21 June 2024 at Freie Universität Berlin, Dahlem
The BESR Conference aims to bring together young researchers from the diverse space-science working groups, in and around Berlin. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to present and discuss their research, and exchange ideas with peers from across this highly interdisciplinary field.
BESR is a unique opportunity for Berlin’s early-career space scientists to establish and growth their network, driving the interdisciplinary collaborations that will shape the future of space science in Berlin.
Space Science Conference
Program
BESR will be a two-day conference, covering a diverse range of space science topics, including:
- Extreme Environments
- Astrophysics
- Astrochemistry
- Medical Space Research
- Astronomy
- Aerospace Engineering
- Space Simulations
In addition, this conference will include a poster session, a tour of the space science labs at FU Berlin, and an optional social event.
Focus Group
BESR is a student-focused conference, open to all early-career researchers, working in any space science field, in the Berlin region.

- Master’s students
- PhD students
- Early-stage post-doctoral researchers
