Hi, my name is Rieke Stock. I studied physics in Hamburg and went to
Berlin for my diploma thesis in Neuroscience. After a short break I
decided to start my PhD in December 2013 in this group.
My research is focused on the membrane protein Halorhodopsin, a
light-driven chloride pump. I am in particular interested in the L2
intermediate of its photocycle. I use Flash Photolysis and FTIR
spectroscopy to learn more about this intermediate. This information
will be used to investigate its structure at the LCLS in Stanford.
