Extensive VRT spectra of
small(dimer through hexamer) water clusters have been measured and analyzed to
yield structures, hydrogen bond rearrangement dynamics, and dipole
moments. The water pair potential
surface was determined via a fit of VRT data to Stone’s ASP potential
form. The equilibrium constant for
dimer formation wa determined as a function of T via direct computation of the
canonical partition function, yielding a reliable determination of the
concentration of water dimers in the atmosphere. Progress towards determining the three body corrections to the
water force field will be described.
