Aims:
Well established classical techniques like Ferromagnetic Resonance (FMR) and  ac susceptibility are used to study the magnetism of epitaxial metallic ultrathin films as a function of temperature, thickness and its angular dependence. The focal points are to understand the temperature dependence and magnitude of the magnetization M(H, T, d) and of the magnetic anisotropy energy (MAE) K(T, d), the dependence of the Curie temperature TC(d) on film thickness, surface orientation (h, k, l) and morphology, and the dynamical response of the magnetisation in the low frequency (ac- susceptibility) and high frequency (GHz) regime.

Projects:

UP I: Ferromagnetic Resonance (FMR)

UP II: Ac-susceptibility in UHV

UP III: Scanning tunneling microscopy and UHV-SQUID magnetometry
