Characters contained in Linux Libertine

Linux Libertine contains all characters of the CWA 13873:2000 – Multilingual European Subset No. 1 (MES-1, 335 characters), all of MES-2 (and of WGL-4) except of BOX DRAWING and BLOCK ELEMENTS (and some of the GEOMETRIC SHAPES) characters. This includes IPA, (polytonic) Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew characters and more (much more than 2000 in total).

Covered languages

Virtually all languages which use Latin scripts are supported (all MES-2 latin characters; complete Unicode 4.1), including Vietnamese, Pinyin, African and Aborigional characters. Almost all characters of Greek and a large part of Cyrillic/Coptic and Hebrew are supported.

The following list of supported languages is taken from the annex of the Multilingual European Subset standard and only covers European languages.

It is believed to cover the following ISO 8859 charsets:
