In the first week of the summer school, the participants had the opportunity to join a working group of the Free University of Berlin.

Here the participants could get a glimpse at a different area of physics as well as experience the every day work culture of the working groups

In the evenings a program was arranged by the Berlin participants. At the last evening we organized a barbecue in a small garden in Berlin. All participants prepared vegetable sticks, salad and other treats together. Over the evening they had a chance to get to know each other better and share the experiences from the first week.

At the last afternoon we were invited by the German Physical Society to visit the Magnus Haus. Here we came to know about IUPAP, an international group for women in physics and the task force for equal opportunities of the German Physical Society. Over coffee and cookies the participants had the chance to engage with the presenting women of the different groups and exchange their own experiences.
