Courses of Study

The courses of study in the four thematic specializations are structured as follows:

  1. Introductory phase: One module in each introductory phase is compulsory. This is where basic gender and diversity skills are taught and science and technology research is introduced.
  2. In-depth phase: In the in-depth phase, students can choose in-depth topics on digitalization, sustainability, the link between science and society, current theoretical debates in gender and diversity research and/or interdisciplinary basic research on gender and diversity.
  3. Project phase: In the BUA Certificate Program A (Focus STEM), the acquired gender and diversity skills can be used in the project phase to expand your own study and, if applicable, your own qualification work to include gender and diversity dimensions. It is possible to integrate these into a study project or a qualification thesis and thus acquire skills in the area of transfer. In the BUA Certificate Program B (Focus Humanities), knowledge of gender and diversity research is acquired in consecutive modules, primarily in seminar-based teaching/learning formats.
