The Ph.D Thesis focuses on the actors and factors impacting on women’s interest in STEM academic paths, focusing specifically on the field of Computer Science, investigating the relationships between social and material contexts in educational and competitive processes.

New edited volume by Prof. Dr. Martina Erlemann and Dr. Sarah Huch

A new edited volume by Prof. Dr. Martina Erlemann and Dr. Sarah Huch on the intersection of gender & diversity studies in STEM and science didactics has been published by Springer Nature under the title "Gender & Diversity Studies in MINT meets Naturwissenschaftsdidaktik. Synergien und Impulse für eine gender- & diversitätssensible Forschung und Lehre der Naturwissenschaften".

This interdisciplinary work combines contributions from physics, biology, medicine, feminist science & technology studies and science education. With a variety of suggestions, it encourages a gender and diversity-oriented approach to (own) research and teaching.

New study programme ‘Gender & Diversity in Science & Technology Studies’

Also in winter semester 24/25, students from all disciplines at FU Berlin, TU Berlin, HU Berlin and Charité can again take part in the BUA Certificate Programme ‘Gender & Diversity in Science & Technology Studies’ and obtain a BUA Certificate. The BUA Certificate Programme, which was launched in summer semester 24, was developed as part of the Berlin University Alliance as a cooperation between Prof. Petra Lucht (TU Berlin/FU Berlin) and Prof. Martina Erlemann.
