I received my PhD in the research groups of Dr. Ramona Schlesinger and Prof. Dr. Joachim Heberle. My work was focused on engineering Channelrhodopsin-2 variants for side directed labeling and employing FTIR- and PELDOR-spectroscopy to investigate protein movements of the channel opening. Afterwards I went on a journey to Canada, US and Columbia. Now that I am back in Berlin I am proceeding with some unfinished projects of my thesis.
