Scanning tunneling microscopy allows for deep insights into how chemical bonds of a molecule are broken or formed. Professor Katharina Franke and her colleagues have a really close look at chemical reactions of individual molecules on surfaces.

News from May 30, 2019

As a technical method, Franke's research group used a scanning tunneling microscope in ultra-high vacuum. The research results were published in the journal "ACS Nano".
