The awards were presented during a ceremony held on July 9, 2026, at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB). In 2026, a total of seven Master’s graduates received this distinction.

The Physics Study Award of the Physical Society of Berlin recognizes outstanding academic achievements by Master’s graduates in Physics from universities in Berlin and Brandenburg. The award highlights both the recipients’ excellent academic performance and their potential for future scientific careers. It is supported by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation.

Hélène Colinet completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physics at Freie Universität Berlin. She conducted her Master’s thesis in the research group of Prof. Dr. Roland Netz. After completing her studies, she started working as a consultant at the consulting company d-fine.

Rémi Gilliot came to Berlin as a German-French Double Master’s students from Institut Polytechnique de Paris. At Freie Universität Berlin, he completed his research phase. "I did my master thesis in the group of Hélène Seiler and it was a wonderful experience that really convinced me to continue working here at the Freie Universität Berlin. I am now pursuing a PhD in the group of Christiane Koch", says Rémi Gilliot, reflecting on his study time.
