Research interest
The central theme of our research is applying theoretical biophysics methods to understand the mechanism of complex proteins. Key general aspects that we want to address are the role of protonation dynamics in membrane protein function, coupling between a chemical reaction (proton transfer, hydrolysis of adenosine triphosphate) and large-scale conformational changes, and the role of the lipid membrane environment in membrane protein function.
