My research focuses on understanding the photosynthetic water oxidation that occurs in photosystem II. In particular, I study the reaction kinetics and use water analogues to gather insight into the still unknown substrate water molecules involved in the O₂ bond formation. Among others, the main techniques that I work with are time-resolved oxygen polarography and chlorophyll fluorescence.
