Physics and Chemistry of Sustainability I – Renewable Energy
The course has two objectives: (i) to provide general knowledge on CO2-neutral, renewable energy resources; (ii) to provide an introduction to research on solar energy utilization, electrical energy storage, and (electro)chemical energy conversion, including artificial photosynthesis. The course is intended for students with a background in physics or chemistry and a keen interest in sustainability issues. The course "Physics and Chemistry of Sustainability II" is planned for the summer semester at the Department of Chemistry, which will deal with further sustainability topics. The two courses will be offered independently of each other in terms of content and credit allocation.
