In order to make boxes (news, dates, text and links) visible, you need to adjust the configuration settings of the startpage folder.

In the startpage folder you need to click on Basisfelder > Alle bearbeiten.

Then select Erscheinungsbild from the Felder-dropdown menu.

Then you need to add the links to your boxes in the section Boxen der rechten Spalte > Linkliste bearbeiten
You need to click on the blue folder icon, find your location in the CMS tree, select in and then click on Hinzufügen so that it is added to the list of links below.

Click on ok and this is it.
