Content: Noninteracting quantum gases, Landau Fermi liquid theory, Bloch theory, X-ray scattering, neutron scattering, interactions and instabilities (CDW, exciton condensation, superconductivity), topological free-fermion phases, quantum Hall effects, Kondo effect, classical and quantum magnetism
Prerequisites: Quantum mechanics including elements of advanced quantum mechanics (second quantization); quantum statistics
Problem sets: published online on this webpage on Thursdays, must be submitted the following Thursday before the beginning of class; active participation will require 50% of points
