Every two years, the German Terahertz Center awards two young scientists whose dissertations represent outstanding work in the field of terahertz research and technology.

This year, postdoctoral researcher Dr. Oliver Gueckstock from the research group “Terahertz Physics of Quantum Materials” at the Department of Physics at Freie Universität Berlin receives the Young Scientist Award of the German Terahertz Center for his doctoral thesis work on “Spintronic Terahertz Emission: Insights and Applications”, which he completed in 2023.

The award winners were announced in the run-up to this year's German-French Terahertz Conference in Siegen in June 2025. Congratulations to Oliver Gueckstock for this great success!
