Ma 1 Compton-effect
The observation of the Compton effect is historically very important since its observations was an early support of the wave-particle duality. Beside the physics of the Compton effect, students can learn about different experimental aspects, namely the use of coincidence set-ups and the detection of radiation based on scintillation detectors. For the understanding of the detector the students also need knowledge about light-matter interaction and about several aspects of solid-state physics.
