Tuition-free Study in Germany

Freie Universität Berlin does not charge any tuition fees. An enrollment fee of approximately 350 EUR per semester entitles students to use all public transportation within the Berlin area.

Freie Universität Berlin supports outstanding physics students with a monthly scholarship of 300 euros through the Deutschlandstipendium program.

Scholarship in Germany for international students

The German Academic Exchange Service DAAD provides currently:

• Study Scholarships - Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines (current deadline: November 17, 2025 for starting studies in the winter semester 2026/27)
• Study Scholarships for STEM Disciplines

Please apply for a scholarship well in advance, independently of your application for a study place.

Yes, you can take a part-time job to cover your living expenses.
